I have been doing a little yoga since I got a mat for Christmas, all of it from my Yoga for Athletes DVD. It is harder for me, I don't do it consistently enough to have really noticed a HUGE difference, but I like it because it is challenging and my mind is totally in it because it is hard.
Where I do kickboxing is starting a new thing that they alternate Saturday classes with yoga one week and kickboxing the next. Today was the first yoga day, the first time I have been to a real class. It was fun to do it with other people, it was fun to do it outside my house, but compared to the DVD, it wasn't much of a challenge. I found my mind wandering a lot. Which I think has its place, running for example is nice to clear my thoughts etc. But I like that kicboxing has my totally engaged in body and mind and that the hour just flies by and I leave dripping and stronger and feeling accomplished. Today was just day one, I plan to stick with it as long as they offer it and see where it takes me. I am trying to get over the feeling of not getting the most out of my hour though. I miss that cardio burn!
